Mountain View Colts Comeback To Win 4-1 Vs Three Hills Thrashers

As heard on 96.5 CKFM on Monday night.

The Mountain View Colts wrapped up a busy 3 game in 4-night stretch on Monday night at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

After falling 4-1 to the Sylvan Lake Wranglers on Friday and defeating the Airdrie Techmation Thunder by a score of 7-5 on Saturday, it would be the Three Hills Thrashers turn to pay the blue and red a visit.

Brock Lott would make his 3rd consecutive start for Mountain View, while Three Hills would counter with Diane Richardson in just his 10th start of the season.

After 2 powerplays for Mountain View in the opening frame, it would be Three Hills who struck first.

Porter Pennock was quick to pounce on a Colts neutral zone turnover and would make no mistake on the ensuing 2on1 and bury it for his 8th of the year.

The teams would trade chances throughout the opening 40 minutes of action, but Three Hills would hold onto a 1-0 lead heading into the 3rd period of action.

The Colts required an offensive spark, and they got it early into the 3rd period from their leading scorer.

Haiden Parks (24) got his team back into it just 4:04 into the period before Steven Bell added another 2 goals (15) (16) to put the Colts up 3-1 with 10 minutes to go.

With just 2 minutes to go, a back-breaking minor penalty against the Thrashers would go on to be the final nail in the coffin.

Rookie Wyatt Bailey (13) would capitalize scoring a massive powerplay goal with less than a minute to play to seal the result.

It was a milestone night for another rookie, Cohen Richardson, who broke the 40-point mark with an assist on Bell’s first goal of the night. The forward was all smiles post-game.

Brock Lott was steady, turning aside 20/21 in the win. He’s happy to have found a home with the Mountain View Colts.

With the win, the Colts now improve to (16-14-6) and are all but certainly destined to meet the Rocky Rams in their opening playoff round.

Pre-game, 96.5 CKFM caught up with Mountain View Colts Head Coach, Dan Visser.

96.5 CKFM also caught up with Three Hills Thrashers General Manager, Reid Fenton, who sums up his team’s season.

Mountain View has 2 more regular season games before playoffs, including a game against the Rams on Friday night at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

The Colts wrap up their regular season against Ponoka on home ice on Saturday night.
