Mountain View Colts Looking For First Win This Weekend

The Mountain View Colts are looking to get into the win column for the first time this young Heritage Junior Hockey League season, and they’ll have a couple of opportunities this weekend to get it.

The Colts are in action tonight, as the Cannex Cochrane Generals travel to the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

The Colts are 0-2 following the opening weekend of HJHL play, losing 2-0 at home to the Wheatland Kings last Friday, then dropping a 3-1 decision the following night in Rocky against the Rams.

Corbin Rae has Mountain View’s only goal of the season so far.

Meanwhile, the Colts have named their leadership core for this season.

Haiden Parks wore the “C” for the Colts home opener, but he will share the captaincy with another long time Colt this year.

Simon Leischner is entering his 4th year with the team, while Parks is going into his 3rd.

Cochrane enters tonight’s game with a record of 1-1, with their lone win coming against the Airdrie Techmation Thunder.

Cochrane took both games against Mountain View during the 2023/2024 regular season, out scoring the Colts 16-5 in those 2 games.

The Mountain View Colts will take on the Cochrane Generals at 8PM tonight at the Didsbury Memorial Complex, live coverage of the game can be heard on 96.5 CKFM.
