Tiffany Nixon from Bergen running in Division 4 by-election

Tiffany Nixon from Bergen is one of the two candidates running in Mountain View County’s Division 4 by-election.
Nixon feels she can bring a good strong voice for the residents of Division 4 to council to make sure they are working in the right direction.
Some of the things Nixon would like to represent and that she would like to see be promoted in Division 4 are things like sustainable development, infrastructure improvements and maintenance, community engagement, youth and family support, and definitely environmental sustainability as well. She says “there is multiple, multiple things that a county would deal with. There is the property taxes. We want to make sure that we keep those balanced between spending in the county, and saving people and not taxing their pockets more than we need to. So all of those things together among the many, many other things that would be dealt with by Mountain View County council are reasons that I think that I could better the community and help to support the people in my division.”
Nixon doesn’t personally have a political background but her husband Jason does, so she is not new to politics.
Nixon adds, she has experience on some political constituency boards in the past as well as volunteer boards. Nixon is in her 40s and right now says she works mainly in administration.
Nixon lists road maintenance as a challenge for Mountain View County as we move from fall towards the winter months.
Mountain View County is hosting an online candidates forum on Monday at 6pm.
Advanced polls for the Division 4 by-election will run from 3pm until 8pm on October 9th at the Melvin Hall, and from 9am until 2pm on October 10th at the Bergen Hall.
The by-election is coming up from 10am until 8pm on October 16th at both the Melvin Hall and the Bergen Hall.
We’ll have more on the other candidate in the Division 4 by-election – Sean LaBrie – coming up on the news tomorrow.
