A Grade 3 teacher from Carstairs Elementary School has been nominated by Chinook’s Edge School Division for the Edwin Parr Award.
The award is for outstanding first year teachers and it goes to six of them in Alberta’s public school system annually. It is presented by the Alberta School Boards Association.
Emily Wilson grew up in the Didsbury/Olds area and both of her parents are educators.
She loves interacting with her students.
Wilson talks about how CESD helped get her ready for year one in the School Division.
Landing her teaching gig at Carstairs Elementary School seemed like a natural fit for Wilson after she had previously been there already as an Educational Assistant. She discusses her goals for the future.
Wilson says the Edwin Parr Award banquet will be in Innisfail on May 27th.
