Olds College Broncos Soccer Teams Host 2 Games This Weekend

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference outdoor soccer season will roll on this weekend, as the Olds College Broncos get set for 2 games at Richardson Pioneer Field.

The Broncos will welcome the Medicine Hat Rattlers on Saturday, and the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks on Sunday.

The women’s program currently holds a record of 1 win, 6 losses and 2 draws with just 3 conference games remaining.

Their lone win so far came in the opening game of the season, a 5-1 triumph over the Augustana Vikings.

OC’s women are currently 6th in the ACAC south, 10 points out of the 3rd and final playoff spot.

Meanwhile, the men’s soccer team is still looking for their first win of the season.

Olds is currently 0-4-3, and last in the south.

6 of the 7 games the men’s side has played have been decided by 1 goal or less.

The Broncos Men’s team captain is 3rd year vet, Pedro Noschang.

The Brazilian says slight lapses over the 90 minutes of play have cost the Broncos.

“I think sometime we lose some focus in the game. We have good people on the team and are working hard every day but sometimes, we don’t have the focus in the game. This is something we are trying to work on but definitely we need to understand that we have to play a full 90 minutes.”

Noschang has been a staple of the Broncos soccer program since his arrival in 2021.

The defender quickly became a fan favorite for his flair on the pitch, and can often be found volunteering in the community.

The 2024 ACAC Futsal player of the year was named captain prior to the start of the year, something he is very humbled by.

“It means a lot actually. During my process to come here, only I know what I had to go through, financially wise and otherwise to try to get here. Then when I come here and get these kind of “rewards” lets say, it’s really-really special. I know soccer is not an individual sport but at the same time when you as a person come to a new place, a new culture and you try to give back and they reward you, it’s really amazing.”

Noschang and the Men’s side will look for their first win of the year this weekend, already out of playoff contention.

The Olds College Broncos Soccer programs will take to Richardson Pioneer Field on both Saturday and Sunday. Game times and detailed schedules can be found at GoBroncos.ca
