The biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up this weekend for the Bearberry Wapitana Society.
Treasurer Lonnie Lock says this is at least their 30th year of hosting their annual turkey supper.
She notes they will be cooking for 500 meals. Lock says “well I love turkey, that’s always a good start. For me it’s an opportunity to meet a lot of different people and just watch people enjoy the meal and bring some of their spirit to our community.”
Tickets to the turkey dinner are $25 dollars cash at the door for adults, $10 dollars for kids ages 6 to 12, and children 5 and under eat for free.
It is slated for noon until 4pm on Sunday, October 20th at the Bearberry Community Hall which is located at 7230 on Highway 584 about 25 kilometers north west of Sundre.
For more information on the Wapitana Society she says to go online to BearberryCommunity.com. Lock says “well it helps keep the lights on and our community hall going for various events throughout the year. Winter, summer – you name it – we have things going on for our community members.”
