The Canadian Collegiate Rodeo Association rolls into the Town of Olds this weekend.
The Olds College Broncos will host CCRA action as part of their Fall Rodeo with the slack at 10am on Saturday, October 19th at the Brawn Family Arena. Full rodeo performances are set for 6:30pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday, October 20th.
According to Tanner Girletz it has been great coaching the Olds College Broncos rodeo team and he enjoys watching the kids grow. He says “I’ve put on various bull riding schools and stuff in the past before I was a coach at the college. Between coaching hockey and coaching the rodeo team, I get plenty of coaching in in the year. I coach both my kids hockey teams as well. When you get to see a kid have that first ‘aha moment’ that means everything as a coach.”
The Broncos rodeo team has become more and more popular as well. He says “we’ve actually got a really big team this year. My first year was seven years ago and we started with seven kids and this year we are up to forty-three, so we’ve got a really big team and a pretty talented team.”
Girletz points out that they’ve got great action planned for the full rodeo performances on Saturday and Sunday.
