Harvest has virtually wrapped up across the province, that’s according to the latest crop report from the Government of Alberta.
Provincial harvest progressed another 5% over the last week and is now 96% complete.
This is ahead of the 5-year average of 90%.
Barley, dry peas and spring wheat harvest are complete, but canola and oats are only 92% and 93% combined, respectively.
Progress of both crops is still ahead of their 5-year average.
Most of the season’s forage crops are now in the bunk as well, with the majority of the province’s harvest considered adequate to surplus.
Fall seeded crop quality declined 2% since last week and is now rated as 54% good to excellent.
