Mountain View Colts Back In The Corral For Weekend Homestand, Hoping For Power Play Bounces

The Mountain View Colts are prepping for a 2 game homestand this weekend at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

Mountain View will welcome the Rocky Rams on Friday night, while the High River Flyers make their second trip of the season to Didsbury on Saturday night.

The Colts are coming off a weekend that saw them split a home and home series with the Three Hills Thrashers, Mountain View picked up a 1-0 road win last Saturday night.

Goals have been hard to come by for the Colts, who have scored just 23 times over their first 10 games.

Mountain View is looking for answers on the powerplay as well, having scored just once so far on 45 opportunities.

Colts Head Coach Ron Doig, says the urgency needs to be ramped up on the man advantage.

“We’re not seeing any of the quick plays, any one timers, or anything we talk about and work on at practice, just isn’t showing up in the game. It seems like were stuck on trying to make that great play instead of just getting pucks to the net and seeing what comes out of it. So, it’s aa mindset change that’s gotta happen, and happen soon or it’s a personnel change. That’s where were at.”

Mountain View will host the Rocky Rams tonight at 8PM at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

Live coverage of the Saturday night’s game can be heard on 96.5 CKFM, as the Colts welcome High River.
