Drumheller RCMP were called to the scene of a head on collision on Highway 9 near Highway 836 this morning.
It happened shortly after 7am on November 14th and the collision involved a semi tractor truck and a sedan.
Mounties say the sole occupant of the sedan – a male from Carbon – was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semi truck suffered minor injuries and was treated and released on scene. Two passengers from the semi truck were transported to hospital for the treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The highway was shut down for several hours as the RCMP collision analyst team facilitated its investigation. According to police, the circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
