The Olds RCMP, the Town of Olds Fire Department, and the Olds College Broncos women’s hockey team are teaming up again this year for a charity game.
The event organizer is Constable Mitch Price with the Olds RCMP. He points out in 2023 they raised close to $4,000 for the emergency shelter in town and this year they will be collecting donations to support the Olds Christmas Angels Society. Price says “so Battle with the Broncos. A little bit different than last year. Last year we had a First Responders team that went up against the College Broncos women’s hockey team and it was fantastic, but nothing seems to beat a Police vs Fire rivalry. So we’ve changed our tune this year, we’ve separated the Police and the Fire entities. The Olds College Broncos are just going to separate themselves and choose a side. They’ll round out our rosters, so it will be Police vs Fire this year.”
Price says the game will immediately follow the Olds Fashioned Christmas kick off event and the Santa Claus Parade of Lights on December 7th so he hopes a lot of please will pop over to the rink to watch at 7:15pm.
Entry to the charity game on December 7th will be by cash donation or a small toy for the Olds Christmas Angels Society.
There will be raffles and also an opportunity to Shoot to Win $10,000 dollars courtesy of Hildebrand Motors.
