Another edition of Agri Trade is in the books.
This year marked the 40th anniversary of the Agri Trade Equipment Expo at Westerner Park between November 13th and 15th.
Show Manager, Krissy Fiddler describes the show as a resounding success.
“I would say it was not just a celebration; it was a celebration that will go down in the books. We had some record-breaking attendance. We’ve had some massive crowds. Our exhibitors are more than happy with the success that they had, and the attendees had great three days.”
Fiddler says they are still tabulating final totals, but she says well over 30,000 people attended this year’s show.
The Ag Innovations Award was dealt out on Thursday, featuring contestants from 3 different countries including Australia, Germany and Canada.
Gurrent Group, based in Linden, took home both the judges’ and farmers’ choice prizes during the event on Thursday, leaving Agri Trade $25,000 richer.
Fiddler says she’s excited about the future of Agri Trade, especially as technology continues to become a bigger player across the agriculture sector.
“You can tell that there is a huge increase in our international side. We have 14 different countries represented, that’s along with attendees and exhibitors. There’s a lot of buzz happening with the new technology side. So you can see, in agriculture as a whole, the tech side is massive, and Agri-Trade is wanting to ensure that we’re at the forefront of that area. So, the international presence and the increase in technology are definitely where Agri-Trade is headed.”
The 41st edition of the Agri Trade Equipment Expo is already booked for November 5th through 7th at Westerner Park in Red Deer.
