The Olds Grizzlys have announced the departure of 2 players, following separate moves over the weekend.
Goaltender Aiden Fischer has joined the BCHL’s Surrey Eagles. Fischer was acquired by the Grizzlys earlier this season via trade from the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL.
The North Vancouver product made 8 starts for the black and gold, posting a 3.27 GAA and .904 save percentage while picking up a 4-3-0 record with 1 shutout.
Fischer was named the AJHL’s Defensive Player Of The Week from September 23rd to 29th.
The move leaves the Grizzlys with two goaltenders, Ben Dardis and
Connor Johnson.
Olds has also traded forward Yibin Yoo to the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League for future considerations.
Yoo played 14 games for the Grizz, posting 1 goal.
The organization thanked both players for their contributions to the team in a press release earlier this week.
The next action for the Olds Grizzlys comes on Friday when they open a home and home series on the road against the Drayton Valley Thunder.
