Fans of country music are in for a treat this weekend, as the a Louisiana Hayride Christmas show is set for Sunday afternoon at the Spruce View Community Hall.
The show goes at 2PM and features tunes from some of the very best names in the history of music, with songs from Elvis, Shania Twain and Roy Orbison featured throughout.
Karen Christiansen is is a volunteer with the Spruce View Community Hall, she says the show is performed by a group who has been recreating the original Louisiana Hayride for about 14 years now.
The Louisiana Hayride features a very talented group that has been entertaining audiences across Western Canada for 14 years. On stage, they will perform as Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, Crystal Gayle, Buddy Holly, and Shania Twain. They will sing some of their most popular songs, including Ring of Fire, Crazy, Pretty Woman, as well as incredible renditions of O Holy Night and How Great Thou Art.”
She adds that there will be some fun added into the show and it’s interactive for the audience.
Christiansen says it’s an afternoon show, so nobody has to drive in the dark, and there will be desert served.
“The show starts at 2PM, with doors opening at 1. It will be a dessert show, so dessert will be served during intermission. The show lasts from 2 until 4:45, and there’s no driving in the dark since it’s an afternoon performance. It’s a fundraiser for the Community Hall, and we’d love to see people come, have fun, and enjoy the show. It’s a really good show.”
Tickets are just $50 and you can buy them on the day, Karen just asks you call ahead so they can make sure there is enough dessert for everyone.
