According to an update shared by the Town of Olds, Canadian Pacific (CP) Rail has communicated that there is a delay in completing the remaining repairs at the Highway 27 crossing.
In the update, CP Rail points out that the recent temporary repairs have been conducted as a precursor to more substantial and essential maintenance schedule in the near future.
The delay in completing the remaining repairs is attributed primarily to the procurement of the necessary parts and materials. They are expected to arrive between May 1st and May 15th.
The Town of Olds appreciates the patience and understanding of motorists as it works with Canadian Pacific to expedite these critical infrastructure improvements.
Drivers are asked to adhere to the posted signs and reduced speed limits to ensure their safety and the safety of others during this period. Bump signs have been installed and are prominently visible for eastbound traffic on Highway 27 before the crossing. The Town of Olds also highlights that a temporary speed limit reduction to 30 kilometers per hour will be implemented in the affected areas by Alberta Transportation.
