Traffic Stop In Mountain View County Leads To Recovery Of Stolen Property

A stolen truck trailer and skid steer have been recovered by the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU).

A white GMC Sierra was observed by officers who were investigating property crime in Mountain View County on April 22nd.

According to police, the truck had an obstructed licence plate and was towing a flat deck trailer and skid steer.

Mounties conduted a traffic stop on the vehicle and as a result it was determined it had been stolen out of Crossfield. Meanwhile, RCMP say the black tilt deck trailer had been stolen out of Calgary, and the Caterpillar skid steer had been taken from Okotoks.

A 43 year old resident of Foothills County has been arrested and faces charges.

Clayton Whaling was released following a judicial interim release hearing and he has a court date set for May 23rd in Airdrie to answer to three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
