The Christmas Angels annual toy drive was held in the Canadian Tire Parking lot on Friday, December 13th.
Rae-Lynn Notley with the Christmas Angels calls it their most important night of the year and the toy drive brings in so many of the toys they need because they start stuffing the hampers next week. She says “there’s parts of it that’ll go in waves, right. So we’re seeing more of it tonight, more of the donations starting to come in. We’ve always been incredibly supported in this community. It may come in at the last minute, it may come in weeks before but so far so good. We’ve had an increase in nominations, so that is always something we think about. We’re over 300 children and youth right now that have been referred to the program (this year).”
Two rounds of stuffing the Christmas hampers are coming up next week for the Olds Christmas Angels. The hampers will then be delivered on Friday, December 20th.
