Run it back: Michael Muzychka officially vying for Olds Mayor again

Michael Muzychka will be running for Olds Mayor again this fall.

Muzychka served as Mayor of the Town of Olds from 2017 to 2021. He says “we had so much success in my first term from ’17 to ’21. I think we really improved the Town in a lot of different, significant ways and I’d like to pick up that mantle again and continue that work. I think we kind of got muted with COVID. We lost a couple years, or 18 months to that and I’d like to pick it up. I feel like the job is not quite finished.”
He has engaged with a lot of residents already, and one of his goals this time is to use the 10 months of campaigning to talk with every resident in the Town and every business owner. Muzychka says “I want to ask them. What I’m hearing so far with the number of people that I’ve talked to – and it’s a fairly significant number – is they’d like to see some improved communication from the Town of Olds and a little bit more accountability. Residents would like to know what’s going on before the actual decision is made with issues in the Town of Olds. I’d certainly look at those two things for sure. Those are the two resounding things I’m hearing at the door.”
Muzychka officially submitted his nomination papers and letter of intent to run for Olds Mayor last week.
His website is Muz4Mayor.ca and you can also follow his social media channels ahead of the 2025 municipal election in October.
According to the provincial government, nominations for this year’s general election opened on January 1st and will close on September 22nd.
