Dedication and efforts of Sundre Museum to Culture Days recognized nationally

The Sundre & District Museum makes history everyday and those efforts have led to national recognition.
Executive Director Carrie Couch says they recently made it into the top 10 for their work as a top participating community for Towns and Rural Areas for National Cultural Days.
She says they had about 230 people attend during the annual three-day event and the trajectory for it is in a positive direction. Couch adds, they are seeing growth in the programming and all of their artists like getting on their outdoor stage. She says “partnering with the Sundre Municipal Library and collaborating with that local organization as well. Bringing arts and crafts and demonstrations and music. We had the Stoney Nakoda and the Metis in this space. It was just a very eventful three days, very full days. We sure enjoyed it and I know the people that made it out here, they loved it and it is becoming one of our more popular events that we host here at the Museum.”
Couch says National Cultural Days hosted 4,000 events across Canada and the events hosted at the Sundre & District Museum on September 20th to the 22nd of 2024 allowed them to place 8th among the participating communities in the Towns and Rural Areas category.
Follow the Sundre Museum on Facebook or visit their website for more details about their events including all of the activities they have planned for the Family Day weekend this February 16th and 17th during Sundre Winterfest.
