The Mountain View Colts went two for two over the weekend.
Heritage Junior Hockey League action on Friday in Airdrie saw the Colts top the Thunder 6-3. 19-year-old forward Cohen Richardson posted 2 goals and 2 assists for Mountain View versus Airdrie.
On Saturday in Innisfail, the Colts earned a thrilling 4-3 shootout victory over the Three Hills Thrashers. Trailing 3-1, Mountain View climbed back into it thanks in part to a pair of goals – including the game tying goal in the third period – from 18-year-old rookie forward Ryder Hammer from Olds. Hammer also netted a goal in the shootout.
Mountain View continues to hold onto second place in the Northern Divison with a record of 16-13-2. The Red Deer Vipers (16-14-1) are in third place – one point back of the Colts. Both teams have seven games remaining in the HJHL’s regular season.
