ABP awaiting news on U.S. tariffs, producer meeting in Olds on January 29

The Alberta Beef Producers are among the Canadian organizations awaiting the possible introduction of U.S. tariffs.
ABP is working with its national chapter and other Alberta beef producer associations and staying in close contact with the Government of Alberta.
Brad Dubeau, ABP General Manager, notes that they were very pleased tariffs did not come into effect on day one of the Trump presidency – although Trump did mention that he is considering the date of February 1st.
Dubeau commends Alberta’s Premier Danielle Smith and the province’s Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, RJ Sigurdson, for their work in supporting producers.
He urges producers to attend a zone meeting to provide their input and keep up to date on what is happening in the industry. Dubeau says “they are happening all through this week and over the next several weeks, leading up to our AGM on March 4th. It’s a good opportunity to come out and speak with representatives that represent producers across this province. We need to hear from you.”
The Alberta Beef Producers meeting dates are listed on the website ABPDaily.com.
There is a 2025 producer meeting set to take place at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites in Olds on January 29th from 4:30 until 8:30pm.
