The 2025 edition of the Innisfail Farmers and Farmerettes Bonspiel slides out of the hack and hopefully across the hog line when the event finals are held on Friday.
The championship match ups are all set for today on the Farmers side with the Innisfail Golf Club skipped by Doug Schaefer taking on NAPA Innisfail and Dan McArthur in the A Final, while in the B Final it will be Heartland Insurance skipped by Travis Phillips clashing with Palliser Chevrolet and Andrew Bennett.
The Farmerettes A Final will see Co-operators/McGillivray Insurance skipped by Kim Lewis battle it out with Zenally Chartered Professional Accountants and Dorothy Dixon at 4pm.
Organizers of the 77th annual event are really happy with the results in terms of the turnout of curlers involved this year.
Committee Chair Todd Marshall says sponsors always step up for this bonspiel and they have exactly the same amount of teams as last year with 28 for the Farmers and 8 for the Farmerettes. He invites everyone to come down to the Innisfail Curling Club to catch some of the action this week.
Marshall once again thanks the sponsors for supporting the Innisfail Farmers and Farmerettes bonspiel and making it happen. He notes the organizing committee put a lot of effort into the event and they are happy to see everyone have a good time. The banquet is set for Saturday, January 25th at the Paterson Community Centrel in Bowden.
