Bushels of memories packed into new Alberta agriculture museum exhibit

History is made daily at museums around the world and now one in this province will highlight Alberta’s achievements in the ag sector.

It was announced today (January 29th) that the individuals who have been honoured with induction into Alberta’s Agriculture Hall of Fame along with a Century Farm and Ranch Award exhibit will all be part of a permanent display in Wetaskiwin.

Wetaskiwin’s Reynolds Museum has a grain elevator which will be the home for the exhibit.

Visitors will be able to check out interactive displays featuring the Hall of Famers plus view stories, images, and more highlighting Alberta’s agricultural history.

Tanya Fir – the province’s Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women – welcomed the exciting news and the celebration of “Albertans who shaped it and spurred the sector’s innovation and growth.”

The class of 2024 for Alberta’s Agriculture Hall of Fame includes Dr. Kee Jim from Okotoks, Blair Roth from Lethbridge, and Manfred Kanehl (posthumous induction) from Parkland County. Learn more about their historic careers at the Reynolds Museum or by viewing the videos online at Alberta.ca.
