Since 1960, Mountain View Seniors’ Housing has been serving residents and families in the County.
This year marks six and a half decades for the local organization which has a mission of providing quality housing and support for seniors and individuals.
Stacey Stilling, Chief Administrative Officer for MVSH, points out that their staff are phenomenal and they really focus on building relationships with the families of their residents. She says “those have been key to our success over 65 years. You know, they often talk about ‘it takes a village’ to do a lot of great things and really ‘it takes a village’ to help us to do the important work that we do. We couldn’t do it without all of those people that have been part of our journey over the years. We have a very thoughtful committed group of municipalities and our Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services – Jason Nixon – that value seniors and the contributions that they’ve provided. We just couldn’t be more grateful to have all of them backing us up, and supporting us.”
Stilling adds, that during their 65th anniversary celebrations each Mountain View Seniors’ lodge will feature a Legacy Tree. She says “so if you are a resident or a family member, or even a staff member at one of our lodges we encourage you to take part in that Legacy Tree project where you write some of your memories on a leaf of a tree and then it goes up in the lodge for everyone to read and see and just understand what the lodge and what Mountain View Seniors Housing has meant to you and your family over the years.”
According to Stilling, they have seen growth over the last 20 years with the construction of Aspen Ridge Lodge in Didsbury in the early 2000s, followed by Mountain View Lodge in Olds about a dozen years ago, and most recently their newest building in Sundre – which is already 8 years old now – plus they added an addition to the lodge in Carstairs. She says “so we are really happy to have those in our communities. We’re also really fortunate to have a number of the manors and those manors we operate on behalf of the government of Alberta. We now look after probably close to 450 people throughout the County.”
Stilling says connect with Mountain View Seniors’ Housing via their social media channels or by phone at 403-556-2957.
