Benefit concert on February 22: “Helping a friend in need”

A benefit dance and silent auction for Charlie Brittain is coming up this month in Bowden.

Patti Bauer is helping to coordinate the event which is being hosted by The Plaiders and it is planned for Saturday, February 22nd from 7pm until midnight at the Paterson Community Hall. She says “Charlie is always out in the community, surrounding areas entertaining, helping people. Putting a smile on everybody’s face with his wonderful music, and comedy as well. We decided we are going to help him out. He is having a little bit of a health problem, well a big health problem. So we are helping a friend in need.”

According to Bauer, it will feature music by Charlie and Friends. She says “they can just be there just to support him. People that want to play, we’re going to have it set up as an open jam. So we’re going to have sort of a house band and then we’re going to have people coming up and we’re just going to be, you know, just like taking turns playing and playing everything from country, probably blue grass of course. Charlie loves blue grass, and any other kind of music you’d like to play for him, or with him.”

Cash or gift card donations will be accepted at the door.
