David Remper, Public Works Supervisor for the Town of Olds, says the events are designed to spruce up the Town and foster community spirit.
First up from this Friday, May 10th to Sunday, May 12th, he says all Olds residents are encouraged to participate in kick it to the curb. Remper notes this new event allows residents to give their gently used items a second life. He says to gather your unwanted, but usable items, mark them as free and put them on front yards for others to take home, advertise your items on social media by using hastag #OldsKickIt2024, and post pictures onto the Town’s event using Facebook. Remper adds, you can cruise around the Town of Olds from Friday to Sunday to look for an amazing find. At the end of the weekend, he says to please bring any uncollected items back into your home to sell or donate. Remper calls it a fun and eco friendly way to give items new life, and find something new without spending a dime. For more details go online to olds.ca.
And then there will be a Pop-Up Transfer Station from May 23rd through the 25th. Find more information about that and register for it on the website olds.ca/springcleanup.
