The Innisfail Eagles and the Wetaskiwin Longhorns are deadlocked at 1-game each in their best-of-five North Central Senior Men’s AA Hockey League semifinal series.
The Birds (11-4-1) lost Game 1 to the Longhorns (13-3-0) by the score of 5-1 on Saturday in Wetaskiwin, but bounced back to take Game 2 by a 3-2 count in Innisfail on Sunday.
Game 3 is set for March 1st in Wetaskiwin. Game 4 will be played in Innisfail on March 2nd at 5pm. If necessary, a fifth and deciding game would be hosted by the Longhorns on March 8th.
Meanwhile, the league’s other semifinal series has the Lacombe Generals (14-2-0) up 2 games to none on the Stony Plain Eagles (11-5-0). The Generals will go for the sweep when they host Stony Plain for Game 3 on Friday in Lacombe.
