The U18 AA Olds Grizzlys continue to hold on to first place in the Central Division of the Alberta Elite Hockey League.
They are 2 points ahead of the Airdrie Lightning thanks to a record of 18 wins, 9 losses, and 5 ties.
Olds got a 34 save performance from Colin MacDougall in a 5-0 shutout win over Okotoks last Friday. Nate Smith netted a hat trick, and Sawyer Campbell was in on four of the five goals.
On Sunday, the U18 AA Grizzlys turned a 2-zip deficit into a 5-2 win over the Bow Valley Timberwolves thanks to 5 unanswered goals in the final 12 minutes of the third period.
The U18s finish up the regular season by hosting the Central Alberta Selects at 7:45pm on Friday. Olds will be at home again on Saturday at 7:15pm to take on the East Kootenay Avalanche. Saturday’s game will feature the graduating player ceremony for the U18 AA Grizzlys.
