An Alberta Emergency Alert was cancelled shortly after it was issued this morning for Mountain View County.
It was a Water Supply Alert for everyone within 25 kilometres of the Town of Sundre.
The County then announced via its social media channels that it was only a training alert.
The statement from Mountain View County points out that it “was part of a routine training exercise designed to ensure our staff are prepared and our emergency response systems are ready in the event of an actual emergency.” There is no cause for concern.

The alert issued at about 8:57am was inadvertently made public and the County is “currently looking into the reason for the error.”
