The MLA for Airdrie-Cochrane has resigned from his position as Alberta’s Minister of Infrastructure.
Pete Guthrie shared his resignation letter on his social media channels on Tuesday, February 25th.
In it Guthrie states that in recent months, he has “voiced concerns regarding the Government of Alberta’s procurement practices across all departments.”
Guthrie will continue to sit as the MLA for Airdrie-Cochrane but as a private member.
Premier Danielle Smith has accepted his resignation as Minister of Infrastructure and responded via a statement. She notes that Guthrie has “obviously expressed concerns regarding the allegations made by the former CEO of Alberta Health Services” and adds, “those allegations are serious and are being fully investigated.”
