The Town of Didsbury has one of the best downtowns on the prairies.
According to a list put out recently by WorldAtlas.com, Didsbury ranks second behind only Steinbach, Manitoba.
Highlighted in the write up about Didsbury was the fact that “its downtown and its well-preserved brick buildings, including its Red Brick School, are the result of early 20th-century bylaws that were put in place to prevent fires.” It continues to point out that “a walk in this town is a treat in itself, but especially enjoyable around 20th Avenue. There, you can visit the Didsbury & District Museum, housed in a beautifully preserved old schoolhouse where fascinating exhibits await. ”
Also making it into the top 8 of the best downtowns on the prairies from this province were Nanton at number 3, Strathmore at number 5, and Lacombe at number 7.
