Over a dozen arrests made in Innisfail, Red Deer County areas during targeted enforcement operation

A 50-year-old parole offender was one of more than a dozen people arrested during a recent three-day operation by Innisfail RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs.

Mounties and the FASST team used “a targeted enforcement operation” to attempt to locate and arrest offenders who were currently on warrants in the Innisfail and Red Deer County areas. FASST stands for the province’s Fugitive Apprehension Sheriffs Support Team.

Mounties say the 50-year-old parole offender, Joshua Atkinson, was on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.

According to police, “dozens of door knocks and phone calls” were part of the operation from March 4-6, 2025.

In the end, 16 people were arrested and 22 arrest warrants were executed during a procedure that Innisfail RCMP uses “multiple times throughout the year to ensure public safety, and to ensure participants of the justice system complete the required process.”
