The U18 AA South Conference championship series began on Thursday, March 13th in High River and there was no margin for error.
The opener of that Alberta Elite Hockey League playoff series saw the U18 AA Olds Grizzlys head to the Bob Snodgrass Arena for Game 1 versus the Foothills Bisons.
Olds and Foothills skated to a 2-all tie in Game 1. After the Bisons took a 1-0 first period lead, Ayren Henry tied it up for the U18 AA Grizzlys. Foothills went ahead again 2-1, but Louis Latimer lit the lamp to make it 2-all before the end of the second period and that would be all the scoring for the night.
The first team to 4 points series shifts to Olds for Game 2 on Saturday night at 7pm.
The Bisons will host Game 3 on Sunday afternoon in Nanton at 4:15pm.
