Canadian blues and roots artist in concert at Carstairs Heritage Centre on April 6

Music at the Museum is coming up next month in Carstairs.

John Cole, Curator/Manager at the Carstairs Heritage Centre, explains who they will have performing for them in their 124 year old Knox Presbyterian Church at 2pm on Sunday, April 6th. He says “Tim Williams in my view is a western Canadian music legend. He is really a phenomenal artist, so we are really excited to have him come to the museum. Oh you know it is really important from a local perspective because we are one of the only venues that offers family friendly, live music at a reasonable cost, so you don’t have to drive to the city. The church itself is a phenomenal venue. Like I said, it is the oldest standing church in Carstairs. The acoustics of it are phenomenal.”

Cole discusses their relationship with the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. He says “Yeah the AFA is great. They provide funding to help with the overhead of these events. The money that we raise – the proceeds of the concert – go towards supporting local musicians. The AFA is crucial in making it so that small timers like us can afford to bring in big timers like Tim Williams.”

Tickets to see Tim Williams at the Carstairs Heritage Centre on April 6th cost $20 bucks for Carstairs Museum members or it is $25 for non-members. There is free admission for children 12 and under.
