Sundre RCMP investigating after reports of mischief to election signs

Damage to election signs in and around the Town of Sundre is being investigated by police.

The damage happened between last Wednesday (April 9th) and Friday (April 11th).

Sundre RCMP say they have “received multiple reports of mischief to NDP candidate federal election signs” and the “mischief includes the spray painting of discriminatory slurs.”

Anyone with information regarding this criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Sundre RCMP Detachment, your local police, or CRIMESTOPPERS.

According to police “damaging or stealing a candidate’ election sign is a criminal offence.”

Mounties add, “hate or biased motivated crimes could result in higher penalties during sentencing.”
