The Olds Golf Club is celebrating its centennial anniversary this year.
Claire Rosehill, President of the Ladies Golf League at the OGC, notes that to mark the occasion they hope to have 100 ladies sign up for their league this season. She says “it’s amazing, something I’ve been involved with for – I would say – six or seven years. I started out as a newbie. You don’t need any experience. It’s not a club that is specifically for golf aficionados. Anybody with any golf level is welcome. We play two times a week which is great, kind of a flexible schedule.” The times for the Ladies league are on Tuesdays at 6pm or Thursday morning.
She adds, it is only $30 dollars to sign up for the league. Rosehill says “your $30 fee for the year for the ladies league enters you into all of the prizes we do every week and enters you into our wrap up event at the end of the year and also enables you to access discounted golf rates. So if you are a ladies league member, on ladies league events – so Tuesday nights and Thursday mornings – you can golf for $40 dollars which includes a cart or $30 without a cart. So it gives you some access to some special kind of pricing and a discount at the Pro Shop for a one-time shop too.”
Go to the Olds Ladies Golf League Facebook page or the Olds Golf Club Facebook page for more details.
They will start their season on Tuesday, May 6th. Before that there will also be a meet and greet kick off event on April 29th at 6:30pm at the Aurora Golf Simulator.
