April 22nd is Earth Day and the Olds Municipal Library is ready to mark the occasion.
Jewel Stuart with the Library says they have a couple different activities planned to take place for their Earth Day celebration. She says “from 11 until 1pm you can come and plant your own seeds. We’ll have seeds available in little pots and you can bring the family and plant a seed. Then from 11 until 5 we’ll have a plant and seed swap happening. We are going to try and be on our back patio if the weather is nice. We’ll have different varieties of seeds, and some cuttings, and you can come and exchange, and take a few.”
You can connect with fellow plant lovers and diversify your garden by heading to the Olds Library for Earth Day on Tuesday. It is a family friendly drop-in event and more details can be found on the Olds Library’s website under programs and events. She says “plant your own seed is kind of geared towards children and families. The plant and seed swap is for anybody who loves gardening.”
Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970 so this is its 55th anniversary of highlighting programs and projects in areas including waste management, tree planting, sustainable mobility, and more.
