CP Rail has notified the Town of Olds that crews will be finishing the repairs on the Highway 27 railway crossing this week.
According to the Town, these repairs will require road closures.
The two-day road closure for the CP Rail and Volker Stevin crews to complete the repairs will see Highway 27 at the railway crossing closed to both directions of traffic from 9am on Wednesday, May 22nd until 7pm on Thursday, May 23rd.
Highway 27 will be closed from 50th Avenue in Olds to Highway 2A for the duration of the work, with access to local traffic only being maintained between 49th Avenue and Highway 2A.
The detour route will be from 50th Avenue to Township Road 331A to Highway 2A.
Volker Stevin will be providing all traffic accommodation during the repairs. Two message boards will be installed along Highway 2 notifying large trucks to avoid Highway 27, and one additional message board will be placed on Highway 27 west of Highway 22 to notify trucks in the eastbound direction.
