Town Of Didsbury Council Approves 2024 Tax Rate Bylaw

Didsbury council gave third and final reading to the Town’s 2024 Tax Rate Bylaw during last week’s meeting.
Mayor Rhonda Hunter says “The 2024 residential tax rate was approved at 7.156 and the non-residential tax rate was approved at 8.811.”
She notes that both tax rates are decreased from 2023, and property tax notices will be mailed within the next working week.
Mayor Hunter adds, that taxes are due on June 30th and the budget-at-a-glance document will be included with your tax notice. She highlights that the budget-at-a-glance document provides an overview of where your tax dollars go. It outlines key 2024 capital and operating projects, other investments into the community as well as reserves, and also explains the tax impact on the average households for 2024 as compared to 2023.
She says the updated multi-year capital plan for the 2025 to 2029 time period was also approved during the Didsbury council meeting on May 14th. Mayor Hunter points out that the MYCP is a planning tool that identifies priority equipment as well as infrastructure investments and projects, and it is a starting point for the annual budgeting process.
