This year’s graduates from Olds College of Agriculture & Technology will be recognized on Saturday, June 1st at Convocation 2024.
Dillon Andrus-Dobbs, OC’s Registrar and Director of Student Services, says they are really excited to recognize just over 500 graduates across their stage at the Ralph Klein Centre.
He points out that this will be the first time the Convocation will be split up into two ceremonies on Saturday with one at 10am and the other at 2pm. Andrus-Dobbs says “We wanted the opportunity to make sure we had the chance to recognize our students at each ceremony, as well as ensure we have the right amount of space to allow family, friends, individuals who are supporting our graduates to be in attendance to celebrate the academic achievements of our learners.”
He notes that Olds College’s valedictorian is for the Class of 2024 is Kenneth Murray, a graduate of the Agriculture and Heavy Equipment certificate. Andrus-Dobbs says “This honour is to really to recognize our students, specifically an individual that has maintained a high cumulative grade point average (GPA) over the course of their program and has also demonstrated additional leadership qualities here on campus. Really worked to contribute to that college community and our campus environment.”
For those who are unable to attend in person, the Convocation ceremony will be live streamed on the website oldscollege.ca.
Graduates are encouraged to show their Olds College Pride by using the hashtag #OCGrad2024 on social media.
