The 64th annual Eagle Beef & Multi 4-H Club Achievement Day took place at the Olds Cow Palace on Thursday, June 6th.
It included a special raffle ticket fundraising component so they could give back to the community.
Club members worked hard this year to raise a steer named ‘Bert’ and a lamb named ‘Ernie’ to generate some money for them to give to support ‘Kirsten’s Place’ – the new Mountain View Emergency Shelter building in Olds.
The Dutch auction for the steer and the lamb was a huge success and helped them bring in over $30,000 dollars. $30,230 dollars to be exact.
Meanwhile, the Show and Sale for their members as part of the Achievement Day included 39 market steers and 17 market lambs.
12 year old Ellie Dorin had the Grand Champion Market Steer. She says his name is ‘Earl’ and her Dad help pick him out.
