The Olds Minor Lacrosse Association is getting geared up to host the U11 playoffs this weekend.
OMLA President Joe Berreth says they’ve got 15 teams from Central Alberta lacrosse coming to town from Friday, June 14th through Sunday, June 16th for games at the Olds SportsComplex and it is going to be awesome because it is also in connection with Uptowne Olds hosting Summer Oldstice on Saturday, June 15th. He hopes they have a good turnout and have lot of people come to watch some good lacrosse.
Berreth mentions that it has been a pretty busy season again in 2024 for Olds Minor Lacrosse. He says “Most of our games were played out of town but everything is coming around now. Yeah, everything has been good. Our season is slowly coming to an end here. We’ve gone all over the place there from Crossfield all the way up to Stettler, Sylvan Lake, Red Deer, Innisfail. Like I said, this year we even had a couple teams from Hanna join us. So I’m mean, yeah, it’s been a really good year, especially with Hanna joining us. Few new faces, few new teams, it’s been awesome.”
Berreth says the year end wind up for Olds Minor Lacrosse is coming up on June 25th and they will have a BBQ for all the players, and say thank you to all the coaches and managers.
Their schedule for this summer will also include their annual general meeting.
