The 2024 edition of the Daines Ranch Pro Rodeo is in the books and the top saddle bronc rides of the weekend took place during Friday night’s performance.
Lucas Macza from High River was on Bar C5 Rodeo’s North Start and Kole Ashbacher from Arrowwood was on C5’s Shattered Lunatic and they both wound up posting 87 and a half point bronc rides to split first and second place prize money.
Other unofficial winners included Clint Laye from Cadogan in bareback (85 points), the tandem of Dillon and Dawson Graham from Wainwright in team roping (4.3 seconds), Nick Tetz from Alsike, Alberta in bull riding (85.5 points), Bailie Milan from Cochrane in steer wrestling (4.1 seconds), Pamela Morrison from British Columbia in barrel racing (15.72 seconds), and Shaya Biever from Claresholm in breakaway roping (1.6 seconds).
There was a one-two split for top spot in tie down roping with both Beau Cooper from Stettler and Haven Meged from Montana getting the job done in 7.6 seconds.
According to the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association, the total payout for the weekend (June 14-16) of action at the Daines Ranch just north of Innisfail was more than $106,000 dollars.
Four Pro Rodeo Canada tour stops are on tap this week. The Sundre Pro Rodeo and the Wainwright Stampede both run from this Friday through Sunday (June 21-23), while the Guy Weadick Rodeo in High River is a Friday and Saturday event, and the Bassano Pro Rodeo takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
