Mountain View County gets an early start on the long weekend festivities by hosting a free Canada Day breakfast this week.
Reeve Angela Aalbers invites everyone to join them from 8 o’clock until 11am on Friday, June 28th at the East Olds Baptist Church. She says “We’re always excited to try a new location. It allows us the opportunity to engage with maybe residents who can’t take the time to travel to the locations that are either further to the west or further to the south. So this is a great opportunity for us.”
She adds, they will have a delicious free breakfast with council and administration on hand to engage with the community. Aalbers says “As long as I can remember being on council this has been one of our annual events and we normally try and do a harvest breakfast or lunch sometime in the fall. So we all look forward to this one. Attendance has normally been fantastic. We understand the weather may not be on our side this year but please bring a rain coat and a rain jacket and still come out and enjoy the day with us.”
Reeve Aalbers and Mountain View County council had their last regular meeting in the council chambers at their Administrative Office for a while on Wednesday, June 26th.
The County’s Administration Office will undergo repairs and maintenance starting next Tuesday (July 2nd). It is intended that the work will be completed by September 15th.
According to the County, all public services will continue to be offered at a mobile reception area located at Mountain View County’s Agriculture Shop – just north of the Admin Office.
All programs and services will continue and the main phone line will remain operational at 403-335-3311 for any resident inquires.
