Local MLA Celebrating Canada Day In Olds And Trochu

This Canada Day, the reflecting pool and the dome fountain on the legislature grounds in Edmonton will open to the public again for the first time in two summers.
The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta says it is always a great attraction, it provides an opportunity for kids to play, and it is another location that brings our community together.
Nathan Cooper points out that the upgrades at legislature grounds are divided into two phases and phase one of the revitalization project is set to open on Monday, July 1st. He says “Phase two is well underway there and that will include a ‘river’ themed splash park that should be open next spring. So if any folks are up in Edmonton, it really is a great opportunity to swing by the legislature. There is also activities there on Canada Day. Face painting, entertainment, tours, and the opening of the pool but myself, I will be sticking close to home and meeting with constituents right here in Olds and Trochu.”
The Town of Olds will have its Canada Day parade at 10am on Monday. Cooper will be there for it. He says “Always such a great time to bring people together, celebrate what it is to be part of our community and really rally around so many of the shared values that we all have.”
The Town of Trochu also has a full day of activities on July 1st which includes the Elks parade there at 11am. Cooper says “Trochu also has a parade as well as a ton of free family activities all around town, as does many communities right here in Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills. Cremona, for those of you who are out in that neck of the woods, also has a spectacular parade. So I encourage people to get out, enjoy our community. Celebrate family together and really all of the incredible freedoms that we all share.”
