A man from Wetaskiwin was released from custody but quickly arrested again by RCMP over the Canada Day long weekend.
Following the investigation into a report of a suspicious vehicle near the Dickson Dam on June 28th, police say the 35 year old had initially been arrested for obstruction, failing to comply with release conditions, and outstanding traffic warrants out of Wetaskiwin.
According to Innisfail RCMP, occupants of the vehicle were screaming at each other and causing a disturbance. After police deescalated the situation, one of the individuals involved provided RCMP with a false name.
The man was released on June 29th and a short time later RCMP say a sport utility vehicle was stolen from a residence in Innisfail.
The vehicle was eventually spotted by a family member of the owner on Highway 2 near Wetaskiwin.
Mounties intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver, Jamie Swinamer, who turned out to be the same suspect who had previously been arrested by Innisfail RCMP.
He has up coming court dates in Wetaskiwin on July 9th and in Red Deer on July 24th.
