Mountain View County Under Fire Restriction

Mountain View County has put a fire restriction in effect, in place until further notice.

Recent hot and dry weather has quickly dried out vulnerable fire areas, and a small spark could ignite a large fire.

As a result, the only fires activities now allowed in the county include cooking with a barbecue, fires in acceptable fire pits under constant supervision, burning of debris in acceptable burn barrels, and fires that are fueled by compressed gas.

All current fire and firework permits are cancelled, and no new fire or firework permits will be issued until the Fire Restriction has been lifted.

Further information on Mountain View County’s Fire Bylaw can be obtained on our website or by contacting the Mountain View County office at 403 335 3311.
