Seasons Olds Olds Donates 281 Canned Goods To Mountain View Food Bank

Seasons Olds has announced that they have made a donation of over 281 canned goods to the Mountain View Food Bank Society.

The community at Seasons also raised a $2100 cash donation.

Between July 1st and 12th, Seasons Olds held its annual ‘One Can Make a Difference’ company-wide challenge to collect the most canned and non-perishable food items for their local food bank.

The goal was to collect a total of 7,000 cans across all Seasons Retirement Communities, but 9543 cans were collected company-wide.

According to Food Banks Canada, 1.9 million visits were reported as of March 2023, up a record-breaking 32.1% from the previous year and 78.5% compared to March 2019.

As of 2023, Statistics Canada reported Alberta had a food insecurity rate of of 21.8%.

Since 2016, Seasons Retirement Communities has donated more than $300,000 in funds and food to local food banks.
