Meanwhile, the Greg Smith Most Sportsmanlike Memorial Belt Buckle was also presented at last weekend’s event in Vermilion.
Each year, one driver from the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association receives that special honour.
The Greg Smith Most Sportsmanlike Memorial Belt Buckle is voted upon by other drivers within the association and they are asked to thoughtfully choose one driver from the chuckwagons or the chariots who exemplifies kindness both on and off the track, offers assistance to others when needed, and maintains a level head when competing against other teams.
This year’s winner is veteran chuckwagon driver Shane Cartier from Mannville.
