The Heritage Day long weekend is almost here and that means it is time once again for the Days of Yore.
Visitors can ‘stroll through the ages’ this Saturday and Sunday at Rosebud Park in Didsbury. The hours for both days are 11am until 5pm.
Kathleen Windsor, Chair of Days of Yore, says new for 2024 is the 700 Wing Royal Canadian Air Force. She says “this is our contribution to supporting and recognizing the 100 years of Royal Canadian Air Force service in Canada. So it has been 100 years for the RCAF. We have a flyby. Just a little after 1pm on Saturday and Sunday. Its a 1951 Harvard airplane, vintage airplane. The first pass over one is going to be with smoke and the second is without smoke.”
As always, Winsdor encourages individuals and families to check out the Days of Yore. She says “I just want to make sure everybody understands how wonderful this event is. The people are so happy, the historians are so educated, and there is lots for the kids to do, hands on activities.”
